Boca Juniors - Carlos Tevez Biography
From playing football on the streets news spread throughout the neighbourhood that Tevez could become something pretty special. Carlos was barely 8 years old when he was signed by lower division All Boys club.
This was to become the stepping stone which would launch Tevez's career and give him the opportunity to showcase his talents. By the time he was 13 years old Boca Juniors had seen enough of him to give Carlos the chance of playing in there youth team. In just 4 years Tevez had netted over 70 goals at youth level gaining the utmost respect from the management. It was then they realised Tevez was ready to move up to the senior team. On 21st October 2001 Tevez made his senior debut for Boca Juniors in the 1-0 defeat against Talleres de Córdoba. But it wasn't until 2003 under the guidance of Carlos Bianchi that Tevez really became a superstar.
Tevez had the ability to win a match on his own. The power, pace and agility of Tevez was enough to rip apart defences single handed. 2003 was a successful year for Boca Juniors and they went on to win the Argentine Championship and the Copa Libertadores (South American Champions League). It was the Copa Libertadores where Tevez came to prominence scoring 5 goals in 7 games at just 19 years of age. The glory didn't stop there as Boca Juniors beat AC Milan in the Intercontinental Cup.

Unfortunately for Tevez his meteoric rise to fame came at a price. In the following season Carlos was dragged through the gutter by the press. When news broke that Carlos was dating model Natalia Fassi at the same time as announcing that his ex-girlfriend Vanessa was pregnant with his child, the Argentinean public who idolised Tevez began to turn on him. Soon Carlos was fighting photographers in the street and begging the public to leave him alone. This began affecting his performances and in December 2004 Carlos said goodbye to Boca and goodbye to Argentina.
